Dwight Drama Ends

Dwight Howard has finally gotten his request to leave Orlando and will be joining the Los Angeles Lakers in a 4 team trade. The Lakers will get Howard and Al Harrington, the Denver Nuggets will get Andre Igoudala, the 76ers will get Andrew Bynum, and the Magig will get Pau Gasol and Aaron Afflalo. This is truly a blockbuster trade with superstars joining teams that already have decent cores and these four teams are not completely lethal with their newly acquired players. A positive out of all of this is to see how these 4 teams will bear with their new players and what role each guy will play.

Blazers

Terry Stotts, the former Dallas Mavericks coach will be joining the Portland Trailblazers. With some key players leaving Portland Terry and his great offensive mind will be put to the ultimate test. Terry has always been a good coach and everyone knows it was always about offense with him and he likes the fast tempo push it mentality and will try to do this in Portland with a limited arsenal.

MLB trade craze

Well it appears the Los Angeles Dodgers made a big splash this trade deadline as they were clear buyers the whole way through, obtaining Hanley Ramirez, Shane Victorino, Randy Choate as well as Brandon League. The Los Angeles Angels also made some noise acquiring Zack Greinke and Paul Maholm adding to that already dangerous rotation. The White Sox also were able to require Kevin Youkilis earlier and towards the deadline they got Fransico Liriano and Brett Myers. Now the clear sellers and non contenders. The Phillies gave away so much talent for prospects in their future. They sent Hunter Pence to the San Fransico Giants and Shane Victorino to the Dodgers. This will leave a huge void to fill for the Phils for next season and a large rebuilding process along with it. The Miami Marlins another suprise bottom dwelling team became sellers by giving up Hanley Ramirez, Gaby Sanchez, Omar Infante, Anibal Sanchez, and Edward Mujica, but the Marlins were able to return excellent prospects even a couple first rounders/first round picks. And the Chicago Cubs who were clearly looking for future talent traded Reed Johnson, Geovany Soto, and Ryan Dempster to the Texas Rangers. Some teams made no moves at all as they were in between buying and selling, these teams are the Arizona Diamondbacks, New York Mets, and even the Oakland Athletics could've been buyers as well, but the GM's for these teams had said they could stay put for now and let it all unravel.

Team USA

As team USA faced Brazil, there was some challenge to come as USA was down 14 at one point. LeBron however was able to score 30 points as USA beat Brazil 80-69. Many of the players said they were actually a bit nervous to play because President Obama was in the house watching the team intently. Brazil has some good NBA big men such as Nene of the Wizards, Anderson Verajo of the Cavaliers, and Tiago Splitter from the San Antonio Spurs. Hopefully Team USA will continue to try to knock off team after team and keep going all the way to gold.

NBA news

Former 76ers all star Elton Brand has found a new home in Dallas with the Mavericks. The Mavs have surprisingly been making some noise this offseason, losing Jason Kidd, being in the Dwight race, and being very close to getting Deron Williams. Brand who was dropped by the 76ers, can provide good rebounding, perimeter and interior shooting as well as good defense. In other news the Rockets are trying to make a deal for Dwight Howard and now they have released veteran center/power forward Luis Scola due to the NBA amnesty clause. The Rockets have gotten Lin to sign a 3 year offer sheet for about 28 million dollars, the Knicks have three days to match the offer. According to Knicks sources they are willing to go up to a billion dollars to obtain Lin, Lin is worth that amount to the fans maybe and many Knicks would probably be ecstatic to see Jason Kidd mentor the young talented PG Lin.

Marcus Camby

The Knicks have gotten Marcus Camby in a sign and trade deal from the Houston Rockets. The Rockets will receive Knicks guard Toney Douglas, Josh Harrelson and Jerome Jordan as well as two second round picks. Camby will make 13 million dollars over 3 years with the Knicks who he had formerly played for when he came in for the injured Patrick Ewing in the 1999 NBA finals. The third year of this contract is optional however if the Knicks keep Camby for two seasons the veteran center will make 10 million. Camby will serve as the secondary center under Tyson Chandler (Both centers won defensive players of the year), Camby will also play the power forward position after Amare Stoudemire.

NBA recent news

Ryan Anderson will be traded to the Hornets in a trade for New Orleans young center Gustavo Ayon. Anderson won the most improved player this year and was outstanding for the Magic this year averaging 16 points, 7 assists, and shot about 40% from three and 45% from the field. Ayon who played about 20 minutes per game averaged 6 points and 5 rebounds, the young center though has a promising career ahead of him. Anderson will be playing alongside Anthony Davis and will either provide great bench support or even start. Kirk Hinrich will be going to the team that originally drafted him, the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls will most likely be going without Derrick Rose and now the Bulls are looking for some help at the guard position. The Bulls also drafted Marquis Teague to help at the guard spot that Chicago never really had much depth at last season. Free Agent guards Kyle Korver and Ronnie Brewer are available for resigning by the Bulls to fill some space on the roster as well as at the guard spot. Next season the Bulls will have a very difficult challenge to overcome Rose's injury and will need much help.

Team USA will have a lot of challenges ahead though especially facing Spain or even France who will multiple NBA stars representing their countries.

Ray Allen

As if the Miami Heat needed anymore talent. Ray Allen has joined the big three champions and will be doing it for what seems a low cost. The contract starts out at about 3 million and then over 3 seasons will increase to about 9 million. Allen will be turning 37 this month but the Heat don't think that will slow down the three point king. The Heat are also looking into Rashard Lewis and Marcus Camby to fill in the empty roster spots on the team, along with Ray Allen will be the other three point assassin Mike Miller. Camby although has a meeting with the Knicks this week also so, the big man will have his options with some good teams wanting him to fill their roster.

Elton Brand

The Philadelphia 76ers will release former all star Elton Brand. The 76ers expect to sign free agent guard Nick Young and re-sign Spencer Hawes. Brand will still collect his salary for the next year from the 76ers. Last year Brand averaged 11 points per game and 7 rebounds per game. The 33 year old forward was a great asset for the 76ers throughout the season and even in the playoffs where he averaged about 9 points and 6 rebounds per game. Brand could provide any team with a tough interior defender and rebounder.

Brandon Roy

Last Year Roy announced his retirement due to a bad knee and this offseason he showed interest in returning to the league. He verbally agreed to a deal with the Timberwolves for 10 million dollars over 2 years. The explosive guard who won rookie of the year can shoot, draw the defense on a drive, basically he can do it all as well as rebound and dish those dimes. Hopefully all will go well for Roy in his return to the NBA and his new team the Timberwolves where he join sensation Ricky Rubio and star Kevin Love.

MLB News

The final day of voting for the final players in the 2012 all star game were revealed. Yu Darvish the rookie pitching sensation will represent the American League as the final player and David Freese for the National League. Freese may have gotten some sympathy when he said he just wanted to play for Tony La Russa one more time. Darvish is having a great rookie year going 10-5 with a 3.59 ERA. Freese is batting 2.85 with 13 home runs and 50 RBIs.new jersey netsPrudential Center TicketsNBA Tickets

Jeremy Lin

As a fan of Jeremy Lin and the Knicks it is sad to announce Lin will sign an offer sheet from the Houston Rockets worth 30 million dollars over 4 years. The Linsanity spark plug looks to be leaving the team that gave him a chance and join the team that had formally cut him. The Knicks although can match the offer from the Rockets so Knicks fans cross your fingers, the Knicks guard averaged 15 points and about 6 assist per game.

NBA free agent drama

Forget about the Mavs being close Jason Kidd has agreed to a deal with the New York Knicks. Everyone including myself though Kidd would go to the Mavs and now he has agreed with the Knicks who did not seem to show much interest. The deal is 3 years 9 million dollars, instead of finishing his career with future hall of famer former partner Dirk Nowitzki, Kidd will go to the Big Apple. The Knicks got the next best thing to Nash, both veteran point guards Kidd and Nash would've provided a valuable shooting and as assisting point guards to any team.

Kyle Lowry was traded to the Toronto Raptors for Gary Forbes. Lowry who averaged 14 points and 7 assists per game. He was a very valuable player for the Rockets for several years. Gary Forbes who has talent could be a helpful guard for the Rockets and provide more of a shooting advantage to Kevin Mchales offense.

Los Angeles Clippers

The Cippers have signed Jamal Crawford and are deciding to keep Chauncey Billups who missed most of last season. The moves made by the Clippers basically means they are passing on Ray Allen. Billups' contract is worth about 4 million dollars whole Jamal Crawfords is worth about 3 years 16 million dollars. Crawford more of a bench player may get the starting role in Los Angeles and make the Clips even more dangerous.

NBA

Jameer Nelson announced that he will re-sign with the Magic on July 11th when signing begins. In the midst of the Dwight drama, whoever the Magic get for Dwight will just help Jameer with his assists. Jameer averaged about 6 assist per game last year and about 12 points as well. Nelson has always been a great point guard for the Magic, the long range shooting and driving guard has always been a bright spot in the past years for the Magic.

Jason Kidd and the Mavericks are close to a deal. The 39 year old point guard will sign a multi year deal with the Mavs and finish his career along his future hall of fame partner Dirk Nowitzki. The Mavs could've made much more noise this off season, but now Nash is on the Lakers and the Lin factor is most likely out now that they will re-sign Kidd multiyear. The Nets are looking into Ersan Illyasova if the they can not land Dwight Howard. Ersan was a great young player for the Bucks this past season and won player of the week a few times, he even got the starting job occasionally over great defensemen Luc Richard Mbah Moute.

NFL News

Well fans now you can look under the hood with the referees in football games on all replays. During the replay you will be able to see what the ref sees while he is watching. This is for the fans in the stadium however and they will see every angle of the replay at the same time the official does. Last year officials got about 98% of the replay calls were called correctly.

The NFLPA has filed a lawsuit against Roger Goodell saying he was biased in his decision of the suspensions of Scott Fujita, Will Smith and Anthony Hargrove. This lawsuit is one of many already filed and the second one in the past three days. Two days ago a lawsuit including Jonathan Vilma was filed, but it was for Vilma separately not the other three players.

Trying to Regroup..

The Phoenix Suns have lost Steve Nash in free agency to the Los Angeles Lakers. They have now agreed to a deal with Michael Beasley who was also a free agent, the deal is worth about 19 millions dollars over 3 years. The Suns are also trying to sign free agent Eric Gordon of the Hornets and trying to find a new spark to play point guard as they will now go without veteran point guard Nash. The Suns obviously will not be contenders, but could be a challenge with some rising talent in the organization like Channing Frye, Marcin Gortat, Jared Dudley, and Markieff Morris, as well as Robin Lopez. The Suns may have more rebuilding ahead of them, but those key young players including Beasley could make the Suns a near threat one day.

Steve Nash

In a surprising twist the LA Lakers have negotiated a sign and trade deal with the Phoenix Suns for Point Guard and 2 time MVP Steve Nash. Many people thought the Knicks may have been frontrunners in this Nash ordeal but the Lakers come out on top and will have a very dominant back court with two premier guards in Kobe and Nash. Nash will be making 25 million dollars over 3 years and will also be closer to his children by going to Los Angeles. The Lakers made the final push with Kobe wanting Nash to help him in his next title hunt. This NBA free agency frenzy is far from over though there is till this biggest ordeal which is of course the Dwight drama, now where will he ever end up?

Recent News

The Houston Rockets have offered point guard Jeremy Lin a contract worth 30 million dollars over about 4 years. The Knicks still have a chance to match the offer the Rockets offered Lin, but this offer the Rockets gave might put the Knicks in a tough position whether to pursue Nash and possibly give up Shumpert in a sign and trade deal and this would leave the Knicks with a veteran point guard and little depth at the guard position. The Houston Astros also making news with a trade to the Miami Marlins. The Marlins

Hockey

Free Agents Zach Parise and Ryan Suter have signed with the Minnesota Wild combined both players 13 years about 98 million dollars and both these players are worth every penny. Parise of the Devils and Suter of the Predators were both being pursued by good teams and Suter was offered 13 years 90 million alone by the Red Wings. Parise who is 28 and Suter who is 27 were both valuable players for their respective teams, Parise racked up 31 goals and 38 assists while Suter a defense men had 7 goals and 39 assists. Bothe players are possibly turning the Minnesota Wild into a playoff contender.

NBA news

Deron Williams will be staying in Brooklyn with a large signing worth about 98 million dollars which may put the Nets out of the Dwight Howard trade drama. More recently Jason Terry has verbally agreed to a deal with the Celtics worth about 5 million dollars annually. Knicks are pursuing Nash with a sign and trade deal that would give Nash 3 years 25 million for the Knicks possibly Toney Douglas, Josh Harrelson, and Jerome Jordan.
